When Mom Guilt Meets Migraine Misery

There’s never a good time for a migraine, but this one hit hard and lingered longer than usual. Days of unrelenting pain, pressure, and fatigue had me retreating from all our carefully laid beach day plans. On what felt like the hottest day of the year, instead of basking by the water or heading out to dinner, I was curled up in the camper, hiding from the light and sound, trying to survive.
The mom guilt was intense.
Eventually, I gave in and went to the walk-in clinic, bracing myself for what might come next. To my surprise and honestly, relief, I found out it was a double ear infection. Relieved? Yes, because if nothing had shown up, we’d be talking about a potential MS flare and a trip back to the neurologist.
The good news? At 3 a.m., the pressure finally popped. The headache lifted. I could breathe again both physically and emotionally.
And maybe… just maybe, hiding from the heat and harsh sun was a hidden blessing. No sunburns, no heat exhaustion, no meltdowns (okay, fewer meltdowns). Just rest, recovery, and quiet.
Today, we’ll build sandcastles. We’ll chase waves and soak up the golden light as the sun sets over the shore. The summer fun has just started! Time to hit the beach and have some fun! 🏖️
