Transatlantic sailings: my new obsession!!

From Holland America’s 150th Anniversary to Exciting New Journeys

Transatlantic sailings have become my latest obsession, ever since I embarked on a remarkable journey aboard Holland America’s MS Rotterdam in April 2023 to celebrate their 150th Anniversary. As a longtime fan of Holland America, this 14-day voyage was a true highlight, offering ample time to relax and rejuvenate while crossing the Atlantic. One of my favorite spots onboard was the Crow’s Nest, a beautiful lounge area with panoramic glass windows at the top front of the ship.

But the adventure won't stop there. I am already to set sail to new horizons with 4 more transatlantic sailings planned over the next 2 1/2 years. Each promises unique experiences and destinations to explore.

My next adventure:

Sailing April 7, 2024 from Fort Lauderdale aboard the elegant MS Neiuw Statendam. This time, I’m joined by my oldest daughter, and we’re eager to explore new ports and fun destinations together.

Our journey starts with a visit to the beautiful pink sand beaches of Bermuda, a destination we’ve both been longing to see. From there, we’ll sail to captivating ports like Coby/Cork Ireland 🇮🇪 , St. Peter Port in Guernsey 🇬🇬 , Le Havre France 🇫🇷 , Dover England 🇬🇧 , and finally, Rotterdam Netherlands 🇳🇱 . It promises to be an unforgettable experience.

Seccond trip wil be...

Exploring England’s Coastal Gems

(April 5, 2025)

In April 2025, I’ll once again set sail on the MS Rotterdam, this time with an itinerary that closely mirrors my previous adventure. Departing from Fort Lauderdale🇺🇸, we’ll head to Rotterdam🇳🇱, making stops along the way. Of particular excitement for me are the visits to Falmouth and Portland England 🇬🇧 , two charming coastal towns I’ve never explored before. It’s a chance to immerse myself in the rich maritime history and culture of England.

Who wants to join us on transatlantic

number 3??

This trip is promising to be be something spectacular. It isn't often that you can find a Transatlantic crossing during the summer.

July 18 - August 2, 2025 this 15 day sailing will depart from London England 🇬🇧 visiting Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿, Iceland 🇮🇸 Canada, and finishing in our Home port of Boston, Massachusetts!! This will be our first time sailing with Princess Cruises.

With our oldest in College and middle 2 still in Highschool we haven't been able to plan trips during the school year with the whole family like we have in the past, so this will be our first big trip in a few years. London has been on our family travel wish list for some time, so we are extremely excited to fly in a week before the cruise and enjoy the city.

If this Cruise is something you might be interested in definitely message me as I have blocked off several cabins at group discounted rates. Just ask me about the "Wicked cool Transatlantic" group with Portside Destinations 🥳🛳️🎉

The final but definitely not last Transatlantic planned:

My grand adventure awaits in October 2025, spanning a remarkable 21 days. I’ll be accompanied by my youngest son for this epic journey. We’ll start with a 7-day voyage to witness the breathtaking beauty of the Norwegian fjords, a dream come true for both of us. Afterward, we’ll continue on the ship for the transatlantic sailing, departing from Rotterdam and arriving in Fort Lauderdale on October 26. Along the way, we’ll stop in Bruges, a place with special significance as it was home to my parents during my university years. I’m excited to show my son some of the places I visited.

These sailings represent not only a love for transatlantic voyages but also an opportunity for cherished moments with loved ones and the exploration of new and captivating destinations. Stay tuned as I share my experiences, tips, and memories from these incredible journeys.
